ARE YOU HONORABLE?

honor
a source of credit or distinction

high respect, as for worth, merit, or rank.

 such respect manifested

Should we expect to be honored when we ourselves are not honoring to those in charge of us?

For instance, should we expect our children, employees, and so on, to honor us when we ourselves do not honor those who are in authority over us?

The Word of God says that if we honor our father and mother, it will go well with us, we will live a long and prosperous life on earth.
Is it going well with you? Is there contention everywhere you go in life? Are you living, but just barely making it?

We need to take a serious look at ourselves and think back, was I a child who gave honor to my parents and grandparents , even if they didn't deserve it?  If not, maybe it's time to ask for forgiveness if it hasn't been done already.  Make a decision to begin today to honor them, no matter the kind of person they are.

As adults, do we honor our husbands the way the God commands a wife to? Are we respectful to them, not nagging them and constantly 'putting them in their places' or making them feel stupid?  Perhaps it's time to look at ourselves truthfully and repent for our dishonorable behavior.

God is a God of second chances.
Just a quick thought for today:
